Gymnastics Donegal Young Leaders

Our Young Leaders

Our Young Leader programme is an extensive training scheme which follows a detailed mentoring plan along with thorough course work and training in leadership qualities. This allows our young athletes to get vital experience in the gym to prepare them for the working world. Our Young Leaders have been a priceless asset to Citadel since we began and we greatly appreciate the time and effort put in by all our young volunteers.

Are you aged 12-17?

Do you love gymnastics?

Would you like to try out coaching?

If this sounds like you, why not apply for the Young Leader Program at Citadel?

Young Leadering is a voluntary program where you have the opportunity to dip your (pointed!) toe into the world of coaching, in a safe, structured environment. Our focus is on mentoring and education and making sure our young volunteers get the best possible experience as trainee coaches.

Young Leaders work and learn under the guidance of our qualified staff coaches, as they assist in gymnastics classes. Here they learn correct spotting techniques, gymnastics safety and the finer details of teaching fundamental skills.

They also attend weekly Young Leader meetings, where they focus on a wide variety of topics such as biomechanics, interpersonal communication, behaviour management, lesson planning and administration skills, Throughout the year, various events are offered to enhance our Young Leader program, such as first aid training, coaching clinics, and fun days.

To find out more about the program, contact our Young Leader Manager on cara@citadelgymnastics.com. Alternatively, ask at the front desk or call the gym on (0)74 92 04101.
