Preschool Gymnastics

Hello, welcome to Preschool at Citadel Gymnastics.

The preschool program at Citadel gymnastics includes all children from 1 to 5 years old.  As a general guide, it is for children who have started walking until they have finished playschool/ preschool.

Did you know that the first five years of a childs life is their most rapid phase of growth and development? The first five years a crucial part of physical health, cognitive development and social and emotional learning that can have amazing and lasting effects for their future.  We love gymnastics and working on all the core fundamental movements, but our preschool classes are so much more than that!  All our classes promote and support many aspects development, providing opportunity for peer interaction, turn taking, listening skills, patience, sharing, motor planning, personal risk assessment and making friends.

Divided into 3 classes, to suit all stages of development, celebrating all the small achievements that build to big success.

Tiny Warriors has been designed with 1-2 year olds in mind, for those who are figuring out their first steps and those who are little more steady.  This is parent participation class where you will work with your tiny under the guidance of one of our dedicated coaches.

Mini Warriors was created especially for children in their first year of playschool/ preschool (approx. 3 years).  Children in Minis are ready for more skills and instruction as well as gaining independence (guardians do not attend this class).  Children should also be able to use the toilet on their own before attending Minis.

Little Warriors is for children in their second year of preschool/ Playschool (approx. 4 Years).  Littles class is preparing children for bigger and better gymnastics, understanding and confidently following more instruction and making great friends along the way.

(All children must be toilet trained to attend our little warrior classes)

Little Warrior classes (age 4) are created especially for children in their last year of preschool/ playschool and preparing for “big school”.  Littles classes are structured around their ability for more deliberate actions and involve active learning, using their increased strength and coordination for better execution of skills.  They can interpret and remember more instructions as well as their learning objectives due to their cognitive development.

 Cross over classes

Friday 3:00pm
Saturday 9:00am

Because we know that all children develop at their own pace and life can be hectic, these classes are a combination of Tiny Warriors and Mini Warriors.  Created especially for siblings aged 1-3 or for Mini Warriors who aren’t quite ready to be away from a guardian or ready to use the toilet independently.

The class will be divided into the two groups, Tinys will run alongside the Minis, both with a dedicated coach, the Minis can have guardian participation if and when it is needed, however we encourage that all Minis are given as much opportunity as possible to be independent.
